The total of usage. The total is based on what pass by the card itself. So far so good but if you have an internal network with media servers and network NAS, the total of usage use that information as well. I think trafic usage should not include local network.
I don't know if that gadget reads this information thru the Kernel or thru the card but if it is in the kernel than it should be easy to mask the local communication.
